Master of Science in Toxicology

This graduate programme is aimed at students holding a Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline such as Chemistry, Biology, Pharmacology, Pharmacy, Human Medicine or Veterinary Medicine. It is a two year full-time study programme combining theoretical knowledge, practical work, and requires students to write a Master’s thesis. Successful completion of the course is recognised as providing the theoretical knowledge for professional registration as a toxicologist by EUROTOX.

The MSc in Toxicology starts September 2014

  • It is a 2 year programme developed in compliance with European Standards (120 ECTS credits)
  • The programme consists of 2 semesters of lectures, seminars and practical work with an additional 2 semesters of Master’s thesis work
  • Small class sizes enable interactions between teachers and students and the teaching is in English
  • The programme is organised by the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Basel and the Swiss Centre for Applied Human Toxicology (SCAHT)
